Analysis of the photographic álbum the Palentina Mountain: The literary lagoons of Piedad Isla
Abstract
The object of study of this article is to analyze in a quantitative and qualitative way the Photographic Album of the Palentina Mountain. Album that collects part of the photographs that were exhibited in an exhibition that bears the same title, and that took place in the Regional House of Palencia in Madrid in 1957. In this exhibition, many photographers from Palencia participated, notably highlighting the participation of the photographer and ethnologist Piedad Isla (1926-2009), being this the only woman who participated in the exhibition. The objective of this article, on the one hand, is to reclaim the figure of Piedad Isla, and on the other, to claim the role of ethnographic photography as a study and recognition of one’s own culture.Downloads
