Abstract

This text analyzes the role played by the anarchist newspaper ¡Tierra! published in Havana between 1902 and 1915 to improve the expansion of the anarchist ideology throughout Cuba, and to connect the Cuban workers with the rest of the anarchist and worker community in the Atlantic world. To do that, having the newspaper as a main object of study and using the perspective of the transnational history, we focus in two objectives: first of all, in highlighting the importance of the persons who acted as editors and how their movements between Europe and America help to understand the intense transnational relationships around the newspaper; and secondly, we underline the sending of subscriptions of ¡Tierra! to other countries and also its constant interchange with other anarchist newspapers contributing to the expansion of the international networks and the connections of the Cuban anarchism to both sides of the Atlantic ocean.
