Keywords: visual art, activism, visual culture, social communication, political communication

Abstract

This article analyzes visual art and activism as fundamental tools of social and political communication in the digital era. In a globalized and digitally mediated context, visual art emerges as a medium for protest and resistance against social injustices, climate change, human rights issues, and demands for justice. Through iconographic and iconological studies of movements such as Black Lives Matter, Ni Una Menos, Fridays for Future, and the protests in Hong Kong, expressions like murals, graffiti, posters, and performances are explored, demonstrating the power of images in social mobilization and political resistance.
