Abstract
French intellectual Lucien Matrat is a main pioneer of public relations theory and practice. Founder of the first French public relations professional association and the first European one, he taught and influenced hundreds of young professionals of the discipline, creating an actually school of thinking, the first one in public relations history. His doctrine, known as “European doctrine of public relations”, was based in the trustee paradigm of public relations, which consider them the strategy of trust. The Matrat’s assumptions are fully valid and they are present in current research works in public relations. However, his learning is still unknown by the present scientific community. The purpose of this article is to put his figure on the right place in public relations theory-building.Downloads
