El auge del asociacionismo en la agricultura americana del New Deal y su proyección en la prensa española de los años 30
Abstract
President Franklin D. Roosevelt arrival in the White House, on March 4th, 1933 and the subsequent aproval of a collection of reformist legislative measures known under the generic term of The New Deal by the United States Congress, produced a huge change in the American political context in relation to workers’ associationism. The new Democratic Government favoured workers’ labour unionism. This fact provoked both the revitalization of the workers’ movement as well as agrarian associationism in the 30s. This paper deals with the rise of labour unionism in American agriculture and its echo in the Spanish press in the 30s, that had great amount of ideological and political content. These difficult historical times and the great movement in political forces are reflected in the Spanish press of the times. This political and social situation had a great influence on the treatment of information about the United States in the Spanish press of that convulsive period.Downloads
