More than three decades later, since cine quinqui was canceled in Spain, the interest of filmmakers, writers and academic researchers has led to this sociological phenomenon begin revitalized, both by approaching new filmic representations and by being the objetct of theoretical analysis. The objective of this article is to analyze the influence that the media had in the creation of those myths that would star in the films made in the 70s and 80s, as well as the traces that we can find in the contemporary works Criando ratas, (C. Salado, 2014), Hasta el cielo, (D. Calparsoro, 2020) or Las leyes de la frontera, (D. Monzón, 2021). The current review of these themes and characters questions, from the cultural criticism, the friendly portrait of the Spanish political Transition, while some films make visible in the digital environment the lack of future of the new quinquis.
