The digital cultural consumption of radio programmes on Youtube in Spain and Poland
Abstract
The possibility of consuming radio on Youtube has facilitated this platform to attract users who are not traditional listeners. The objective of this research is to perform a comparative analysis of media consumption on YouTube Spain and Poland. We analyzed Youtube content of 14 Spanish and 14 Polish stations, from its origin until December 2017. The Polish stations on the Youtube platform tend to be of general genre compared to a larger number of music stations in Spain. Both countries need to improve the possibilities offered by Youtube to develop more effective radio consumption strategies.
