Transmediality in Digital Environments
Abstract
This article explores some structural features of the so-called “transmedia storytelling”. In order to progress towards a conceptual clarification, the Internet has to be considered as a mass media with specific and privative traits that would define the “form of the media”: global, viral, participative, continuous (or almost), mobile, pervasive, pragmatically oriented etc. Some opinions of professionals related to the field have also been taken into account and are presented here. As a conclusion we offer a tentative definition of “transmedia storytelling” from a processual perspective.Downloads
