Abstract

s renewed relevance when approaches to the importance of different spatial formations (territories, places, architectures or bodies) have gained strength, for the design and implementation of social equity and environmental sustainability policies. Early approaches to the issue, from geopolitics, were promptly criticized under the qualification of geographical or environmental determinism, proposing instead a geographical possibilism. These features of thinking about space are treated in this text, to propose a different approach to the problem of the power of space (and not only the power in space), with emphasis on the geographies of knowledge.
