Labor force and practices of smuggling in the border between Brazil and Paraguay
Abstract
The border between Brazil and Paraguay is marked by a heavy flow of people, goods and capital, highlighting strong interdependencies between cities and their neighboring communities. In this universe, illegal and legal practices are confused by relaxing the limits imposed socially and creating different opportunities for development. The text presented here is to discuss some of the formatting of the border and the relationship between employees responsible for purchasing, transportation and resale of goods available in Ciudad del Este. Through qualitative interviews, it is tried to analyze social relations between different subjects inserted in the “hawking circuit”, focusing on aspects related to the processes of socialization, organization and resistance.Downloads
