Urban policies in the city of Seville
Abstract
In the present context of global crisis the new macro-economic and institutional conditions are altering the hierarchy of territorial economic systems and urban spaces. A socio-spatial analysis of the urban evolution of the city of Seville reveals a budding change in the urban policy design strategy, resulting from the process of adaptation to a changing reality. The difficulties in the instrumentalization and effectiveness of such policies may allow the expansion of acute problems if socio-spatial inequalities are not leveled.
