Kitsch Flesh: Homoeroticism and Cinephilia in Three Texts by Terenci Moix
Abstract
Starting with a series of interviews included in Iborra's 2004 collection Detrás del arcoiris, this article argues that, beyond the characterization of Moix as a "homosexual writer", there is something more radical in his writing. Rather than engaging with identity politics, some of his key texts engage with a "homosexual erotics", which is less straightforward and less easy to accept by the establishment. This article explores elements of such homoerotics in "La caiguda de l'imperi sodomita", Mundo macho and Nuestro virgen de los mártires.
