Los bailes y pantomimas en Madrid en el siglo XVIII: escenografía y fuentes
Abstract
During the Lent, the ban of playing theatrical performances in the coliseums allowed the arrival of nomad companies that had the chance to play dance performances and pantomimes. Through information obtained from newspaper ads and administrative documents of the theatres it is possible to guess the development of the mentioned plays, considering that the original texts are lost. Several formal resemblances relate them to their possible sources: the Commedia dell’Arte and the comedy of magic. This likeness allows us to glimpse in a more accurate way the development of these performances.Downloads
