Abstract

This work deals with the study of the enlighted José de Viera y Clavijo translation’s poetry (1731-1813). Some texts from the whole of his translated works will be selected in order to show the developed techniques.It will be analized the author’s ideas, on this literary practice, that appear in some of his preserved prologues. Our intention is to show a frequent literary practice during the XVIIIth century, that is, to study the interest for some Swiss, French and English writers. Therefore,the authors and genres that influenced on the Enlighted Spanish Literature can be observed by readers.
