Superfluous men in Twentieth-Century Spanish Novel

Abstract

The superfluous man is one of the most significant modern literature characters, soundly observed by Slavic philology. Nevertheless, other western cultures, such as Spanish, have associated this character with essentially unproductive aspects. Therefore, deeply approach to superfluous man in Spanish literature remains to be studied. This article wants to underline several important findings about the character which have already been pointed out by the critics, as well as giving some new clues to an overall view.
