Una serranilla en latín. La adaptación de una clase de poesía Iberorrománico en una elegía de Diogo Pires
Abstract
The article presents the two versions of a poem that seems to be the only Latin adaptation of the Serranilla, a poetic genre typical of Spanish and Portuguese late medieval literature. The author of the text is the most important Jewish poet writing in Latin, Diogo Pires (1517- 1599). Very probably, Pires composed the first version of his poem during his stay in Ferrara in the fifth decade of the 16th century, whereas the second belongs to the years he passed in Dubrovnik (Ragusa). In his composition, Pires successfully blends characteristic traits of the Serranilla with elements derived from classical Roman poetry, especially from elegy.Downloads
