Tracing Childhood in Iberian Culture: What Can We Learn Through Archaeology?

Keywords: Childhood, Iberian Culture, Maintenance Activities, Feminist Archaeology

Abstract

This article provides a review of the Archaeology of Childhood in Iberian Culture, based on Teresa Chapa's 2003 paper. Firstly, the text is analysed using methods from the Digital Humanities. Secondly, the main advances in the study of childhood in funerary, domestic, and sanctuary contexts are discussed through the material record. Finally, future research avenues are proposed, focusing on bioanthropological studies and the analysis of maintenance activities.
