Landscape, path and liturgy in the myth of the hero of Iltiraka
Abstract
This study reinterprets the heroon of El Pajarillo within the framework of the myth of the katabasis (the hero's journey to the underworld). For this reading, archaeoastronomical studies have been carried out and the has been integrated into the route of a pagus that follows the waters of the River Jandulilla. A new archaeological landmark has been added to this new territory: the Fontanar de Jódar, a stone monument representing a hierogamy, unique in the Iberian Culture.
