Después de Piazzolla… nuevo tango y postango
Abstract
Both conservative and innovative trends in the traditional Rio de la Plata tango can be monitored throughout its history, understood as the contribution of composers and performers that enriched a series of pre-established norms dictating what was or wasn’t tango. The emergence of Astor Piazzolla during the second half of the twentieth century called this into question and the composer opened up the genre with the introduction of his Nuevo Tango. The impressive and unforeseeable repercussion of his output all over the world prevailed over the questioning of those who considered theirs music that today belongs to all of us. The new generations had it easier: Pablo Zieger and Gerardo Gandini interpreted it as such and their contribution to the genre was a polysemic and modern music that no longer pertained only to Buenos Aires.Downloads
