La nueva canción latinoamericana en "El Socialista" y "Mundo Obrero". Música y discurso político durante la Transición (1973-1982)
Abstract
This article analyses the presence and political discourse surrounding New Latin-American song in the organs of expression of the PCE (Communist Party of Spain) and PSOE (Spanish Socialist Workers’ Party) during the Spanish Democratic Transition, examining the impact of music on Spanish left-wing policies through references in the publications El Socialista and Mundo Obrero. Particular attention is paid to international policy and to connections with the Latin-American left, the process of pacts and the ideological renunciations of the Democratic Transition, Liberation Theology and the importance of New Latin-American Song in shaping a cultural reference of diversity in Spain at the time, newly reorganized into autonomous regions.Downloads
