Los "airs de cour" en español publicados en Francia: 1578-1629
Abstract
The French airs de cour compilations from 1578 to 1629 include 34 Spanish songs. Their authors are French court composers such as Fabrice Marin Caietan, Gabriel Bataille, Antoine de Boesset and Étienne Moulinié. Nevertheless, it seems that this repertoire existed before its publication in France, and that these authors adapted it to French tastes in order to give an exotic touch to their compilations. In this article we present an analysis of this repertoire, comparing it with the Spanish repertoire and providing connections with other Spanish sources from Spain and different European libraries.Downloads
