The Instant in which a Feeling penetrates the Body is Political

Abstract

Contemporary art develops diverse strategies, which reveal a desire to find an effective mode to reinsert art in reality. Those trials express the conscience of the fact that if trough representations we can have a memory and we can construct ourselves as a collective, it will be inevitable the figurativisation of the social link. Mass culture must not be a menace in this sense, because it could be thought as an insurgency space. In this work it is proposed a vindication of the effort of saying. Representations, even the massive ones, suppose modes of indicating and inventing of social and political sites, and need consequently rigour, accuracy, sincerity and honesty. This bid has to do with imagination but also with compromise and the effort of telling about the “other” sites where justice could emerge.
