Abstract

The author describes the state of research in the different perspectives of Political Economy of Communication about cultural and media industries. He studies deeply the evolution of the research and considers that if concentration of capital is still a major process, it is also necessary to complete the study of this process with the new elements in the field, such as the diverse mutations and transformations which are taking place and which are as important as the concentration procress: the diversification of strategies, the resistance of creativity to oligopolistic tendences, and so on.
