Social change and its relationship with community radio and intercultural communication: the case of the Caribbean Coast of Nicaragua.
Abstract
This paper presents an investigation on the role of community radio in the process of social change in the Nicaraguan Caribbean Coast. The social, territorial and political reality of this area justifies the analysis of the role of radio as a communication tool for indigenous and Afro-descendant communities in the Caribbean. The objective is to demonstrate how the radio medium can be a good instrument to strengthen and improve the processes of transformation and development of these communities.
