Vida en Clausura: estudio de las patentes de los ministros franciscanos conservadas en el archivo del Convento de Santa Clara de Borja (1603-1875)
Abstract
This contribution follows the most recent historiographical aproaches to gender studies, specially those linked to female monasticism. Recent studies have provided a better knowledge of life models and female religious attitudes. In this case-study, patent certificates preserved in the archives of the Convent of Santa Clara (Borja, Saragossa) are used in order to analyze the disciplinary rules which governed this community. The paper provides also an in-depth description to other specific aspects of the daily life in Santa Clara and other monasteries of the former Franciscan Province of Aragon in northeastern Spain.Downloads
