Oligarquías urbanas y milicia: Apuntes sobre una relación beneficiosa a partir del caso de Ourense (siglo XVIII)
Abstract
This work tries to study some aspects of the correspondence between urban oligarchies and military service during the 18th century through the case of Ourense. It has three parts. Firstly we will expose the general characteristics that define the group from a political and social point of view. In the second part we will analyze the routes or channels of that relation, concentrating us specially on the tasks of military recruitment and the benefits that it reported to the municipal oligarchies. And in the last one we will focus on the presence of military men in charge of one regiduría, its role and the consequences that it had for the municipal institution.Downloads
