Transport in the Kingdom of Granada (18th century
Abstract
This paper aims to conduct the first approach related to transport in the kingdom of Granada in the 18th century. Based on the documentation of the Cadastre of the Marquis de la Ensenada, two main lines of analysis have been developed focused on a human role and the on the economic impact.
Consequently, discussion related to the study of transport, the documentary sources and the professional categories are carried. Additionally, in the second section, a discussion about the importance of transport in the regions and its interplay with the main economic poles and the roads is conducted.
This research proposes some new lines of research on the transporters belonging to the Real Cabaña de Carreteros, Cabañiles, Jabarderos and Trajineros of the jurisdiction of the Real Chancillería de Granada
