Call for Papers for thematic proposals for special issue 51.2 (2026)
The journal Cuadernos de Historia Moderna (ISSN 0214-4018; e-ISSN 1988-2475) has opened the deadline for the receipt of proposals for the dossier corresponding to volume 51.2 that will be published in the second half of 2026.
Each proposal for the special issue must have an introduction, prepared by the editor or
coordinator of the dossier, and between 8 and 12 articles.
Deadline for submission of proposals: from the opening of the call (December 20th,
2024) until January 24th, 2025.
Thematic scope and characteristics of the papers: Proposals must fall within the scope of publication of Cuadernos de Historia Moderna. They must comply with the guidelines for authors published on the journal’s website: https://revistas.ucm.es/index.php/CHMO/about/submissions.
They must be scholarly articles of high quality, original and referring to any aspect of Early Modern History.
Submission process:
Proposals must be sent to the address of the journal (cumodern@ucm.es) and contain the
following information:
- Title and general summary of the monograph: 30 lines.
- Abbreviated curriculum vitae of the editor or coordinator of the issue.
- Authors, provisional title of the articles and brief summary of each one.
Assessment process:
The Editorial Board of Cuadernos de Historia Moderna will study and evaluate the proposals for the dossier and will decide on their publication based on criteria of scientific quality, novelty and internationalisation of the contributions, along with thematic relevance.
Publication of the dossier:
In the case of being accepted the proposed dossier, manuscripts should be sent to the journal before April 1st, 2026. Authors should follow Cuadernos de Historia Moderna’s guidelines, available at the Journal’s website. All papers will undergo double-blind peer review and will be sent to reviewers selected
by the Editorial Board.
