Abstract
In September 2018 and after various controversies, the World Surf League (WSL) announced equal prize money would be granted to male and female athletes on all of its events. In this article, we will start from a historical analysis of gender gap in sports to then continue analyzing, from a feminist perspective, the news broadcast through the Spanish online media, both general and specialized, in order to identify the current situation of women professional surfers in Spain.
