Sex education: La ESI en Netflix
Abstract
In societies such as this one, where we are so dependent on images and visual content, it is our job to ask ourselves what representations are available to us and which ones we choose (if we really have the opportunity to do it) to consume, while understanding that every visual product contains a variety of stereotypes and gender roles inherent to a capitalistic and patriarchal society.
In this way, the following essay will analyze the British TV series “Sex Education” in order to re-think and question different ways of representation for contemporary subjects, such as: feminism, gender identities, sexual orientations, class membership, and the assigned roles of family and school institution.
