Implications of records management in Mexico from the General Archives Law
Abstract
It shows the trajectory to reach a General Archives Law in Mexico and the infrastructure needs for its fulfillment. Document recovery is a priority to implement the National Transparency and Anticorruption System. From the aspects of the law, document management is analyzed here as one of the fundamental Archival methods to achieve the objectives set out by public policies on the matter, its interpretation, scope, claims and some limitations are addressed. Through documentary analysis and document management, the conclusion is reached that as long as financial and professional resources are not allocated for document management, the law and the citizen's right to information will not be complied with.
