Political progress. Scientists in government and Progressive Party: 1833-1868
Abstract
The organization of the Progressive Party has an open configuration, it assays new formulas such as primary elections and it has to cores: Parliament minority and an organization, permanent from 1846, in which the Central Committee, the Directive Commission and a net of local organizations play a crucial role. Among the politicians of the Progress generation, Francisco de Luxán will be the first one of a reduced list of ministers with scientific and technical education, and the only one among the leaders of the Progressive Party and the Liberal Union.
