Abstract

Pasolini’s version of the Decameron can be considered a true self-portrait of the writerdirector. Employing different strategies, Pasolini pays tribute to the text of the founder of Italian narrative, Giovanni Boccaccio, developing and establishing through his reworking of the earlier text, his own authorial Poetics.
