Alfieri stravolto: su una Congiura de’ Pazzi spagnola

  • Cristina Barbolani

Abstract

The Spanish tragedy Lucrecia Pazzi of Francisco Rodríguez de Ledesma, published and represented in 1805, is analysed in parallel with Congiura de’ Pazzi of Vittorio Alfieri, by which evidently it is inspired, to find out its degree of «alfierism». Since the Spanish author practically is not known, we investigated in the first place through the data offered by its writings (for want of biographical data) about its activity of translator and of committed writer, between who the creation work appears like a noncentral experience, but of certain relevance. The comparison between the Spanish tragedy and the italian is made care of different aspects, from the scene to the characters, from the use of the common source (the Istorie fiorentine of Machiavelli) to the onomastic; but through these analyses it is tried to detect, mainly, completely different ideological positions. It allows to affirm that the Spanish tragedy has its autonomy and originality, independently of other appreciations, being left more near the authors of the Spanish Illustration that of the libertarian radicalism of the Congiura de’ Pazzi of Alfieri.
