The "primavoltità" in the "Lettere editoriali" by Roberto Bazlen. Aesthetic-experiential valuation and literary language in the implied reader’s creation
Abstract
The objective of this article is to analyze the evaluative dimension of the Lettere editoriali (1968) published into Roberto Bazlen’s posthumous work: Scritti (1984 [2013]). First of all, building upon some esthetic reception postulates (Ingarden 1989 and Vodička 1989a, 1989b), we have taken the concept of «value» (aesthetic and artistic) which Bazlen is based on to substantiate his publisher choices on what he called the primavoltità. Second, the theory of the aesthetic effect has allowed to develop, on the Bazlenian act of reading, the creation of a new reader-editor’s literary genre: i pareri di lettura, a case of literary immersion that could only be made by the implied reader proposed by Iser (1976 [1987]). It is expected that this study can deliver novelties to the present state of the art, which is prevalently devoted to Il capitano di lungo corso (1973) (following the irremediably habit of seeking for the writer). In that regard, this proposal constitutes one of the excuses to redirect the vision to other ways of contributing to the existence of literature.
