From the prohibition era to the memory of the 21st century: a course into the representation of the Shoah through the poetics of Edith Bruck
Abstract
This work outlines a transversal interpretation on the poetry of Edith Bruck, carried out, in primis, in light of Quanta Stella c’è nel cielo: a novel subject to different interpretations, that exposes the complexity of reality and shifts attention to a typically underrepresented topic in Italian literature. By adhering to a modus operandi based on comparative analysis, this study intends to shed light onto the original nature of the work, as well as to illustrate the importance of fiction in the construction of tradition. Therefore, the reflection delves into the hot-topic debate on the representation of the Shoah and intends to trace the course charted by the literary testimony from the immediate postwar to the present day, facing the challenge of a future hypothesis for the memory of the XXI century.Downloads
