The memory system in La luna e i falò.
Abstract
The essay studies the dominant role of the return jorney in La luna e i falò, the last novel of Cesare Pavese. Thanks to this double mouvement (going and returning), present in the Pavesian work, this article demostrates that the principal characters of Pavese cannot return to their original space. They can only look at the childhood scenaries through the evocative memory. They reach in this way the lyric, tragic and elegiac poetry. It consents them to look at the melancholic world of their own past time.Downloads
