The parts of speech in Isidore of Seville
Abstract
The purpose of this article, as it is indicated by its title, is the study of the parts of the speech in Isidore of Seville. After expounding the aspects related to the Etimologiae, the grammar, the sentence and the parts of speech in the introduction, the author then focuses on the doctrine of the noun, the pronoun and the verb, themore complex parts. Subsequently he discusses the nature of the remaining parts (adverb, participle, conjunction, preposition and interjection).At anymoment he places the points of viewtaken into consideration in the context of the grammatical tradition. In the quotes he maintains the graphies of the original texts.Downloads
