The Diagrammatic Logics of Llull and Peirce: Transhumance, Triadicity, Geometrization
Abstract
This article displays a comparison between Lullian and Peircean diagrammatic logics. Section 1 introduces a general problem of “transit” and its triadic and spatial resolutions, taking advantage of Aby Warburg and Walter Benjamin perspectives. Section 2 is a synthesis of the fundamental outlines of Llull’s diagrammatic system. Section 3 summarizes the essential geometric-topological characteristics of Peirce’s existential graphs. Moreover, finally, in Section 4, a trace of Llull’s quotations in Peirce’s texts is carried out, suggesting a connection between those philosophers.
