Nietzsche face Schopenhauer: negation and reinvention of finality

Keywords: ateleological finality, final end, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer

Abstract

The aim of this paper is to offer a brief recognition of some of the main points on which Nietzsche`s position about natural teleology is based. In this occasion, I will face the issue via opposing Nietzsche´s vision to the state in which Schopenhauer left the subject. In order to do this, I will first address some of the elements that link both projects and, secondly, I will present a key point that seems to distance them definitely. Along with clarifying this last point, I will try an approach to the specificity and originality of the Nietzschean project on the subject.
