Fertile Places. A project of artistic research in a urban plot for ecological consciousness and collective creation.
Abstract
Nowadays, there is a clear increase in artistic strategies that expand and develop the art-education tandem, thus blurring the walls that have been built throughout history between both areas. We are talking about processes capable of involving people in their context to generate new ways of rethinking spaces as places of opportunity from which to reflect, act and create care networks. This article will expose the creation process and the results of the ‘Fertile Places’ Project, an artistic investigation that produced a series of interdisciplinary encounters of artistic experimentation and socio-environmental reflection. The project facilitated the meeting between artists, educators and people interested in artistic creation processes linked to the urban environment, who met to share the experience of occupying an abandoned urban site through artistic interaction and ecological thinking.
