Art Therapy: a Case of Inhibition of Creativity

Abstract
This paper reviews the case of a 35-year-old patient, an artist and teacher of art who felt that his creativity had been inhibited. The treatment, on a weekly one-to-one basis, ran for almost two years. The exploration of a wide variety of materials and supports, together with specific assignments, brought to his conscience desires that had been dormant for a long time. This resulted in the conscious incorporation of denied contents which not only contributed to the unblocking of creativity but also offered him a new way of relating to life.Downloads
