Abstract

In this paper are exposed the most relevant methodological decisions made in the study of the groups of Estampa Popular. Those decisions were determined by the hypothesis that these groups were a more complex entity than what had been considered in other studies. This starting point was the base of an approach to our object that was different from the previous ones, which were also critically analysed. According to our research, Estampa Popular had been judged according to values that did not fit its nature and, therefore, other ones are proposed, which are thought to be better to understand these artists in the present.
