Il pomo d’oro of Cesti, Sbarra and Burcacini, from the National Library (Madrid)
Abstract
The National Library, in Madrid, preserve a Treatise copy of Antonio Cesti and Francesco Sbarra, whose stages set were designed for Giovanni Burnacini, to joining Imperial marriage between the Kaiser Leopold I and Margarita Teresa, the King’s daughter Felipe IV of Spain. Il Pomo d’Oro play the Venere Triumph of Paris Choice, which began the mythical Trojan’s War. The emblematic or symbolical merrymaking meaning involved the acknowledgement of Spanish Princess like a Lovely Goddess and the Hapsburg’s Triumph. Within the Burnacini’s staging assembly became the Baroque Italian Scenery.Downloads
