Abstract

Since Baudelaire considered toys as an art objet in the half XIXth century, it has been one of the most suggesting ways for the creativity. Among the many characteristics of that “new sculpture”, have to be mentioned the use of abstract shapes and colours or the necessary intervention of the public (the child), who activates those new shapes with his imagination. At the very beginning of the XXth century, some of the Avantgardes recovered Baudelaire’s intuitions and consacred toys as icons of the modern age.
