From the Archive to the Document. Written Culture of the Vera Cruz Hospital
Abstract
The archive of the Hospital de la Vera Cruz in the Spanish village of Medina de Pomar contains two documents related to the moment of its foundation and the rules established by the Velasco family for its new hospital institution. While these documents are already widely known in the historiography related to this family lineage, our proposal seeks to read them as cultural objects that could lead to a deeper reflection on practices of written culture, its applications and representation within the architectural complex of the Hospital.
