From Extremadura to Puerto Rico: military engineers to both sides of the Atlantic
Abstract
The presence of Spanish people to America has been the subject of attention for many researchers for the years. There are a lot of publications on the lists of passengers who moved to America since the mid-16th century. The purpose of this article, is to confirm the presence of more than twelve military engineers in the construction of the defensive system of Extremadura and Puerto Rico, whose work has gone unnoticed.
