'Foreign Bodies' in the collection of the Museo Nacional – Centro de Arte Reina Sofía: 'Rapture' (Arrebato, I. Zulueta, 1979) and the construction of the Spanish 'Other Cinema'
Abstract
The insertion of commercial films in art museums is problematic. The article explores the inclusion of Rapture (Arrebato, I. Zulueta, 1979) in the collection of the MNCARS as a case study to explore that complexity. Its conclusions include a proposal on how to establish a more accurate dialogue among art and cinema taking into account the history of films as communicational objects.
