Maldoror´s Portrait throught the Surrealist "Livre d´Artiste" (1934-1948)
Abstract
Maldoror is a mutable character. There is no canonical representation of his figure, and it gets threshed in formless transmutation and metamorphosis. Put limits to this entelechy, has been one of the favorite games for the surrealists through the so-called livres d’artiste. This article tries to be an anthology of the creative maldororian portraiture through different editions of Lautréamont Count´s Les Chants de Maldoror, wich took place between 1934 and 1948.Downloads
