César Fernández Moreno: Transsgressing the Lyricism
Abstract
César Fernández Moreno undertakes a new definition of the genre from its inside, that is, trough the constant rewriting of classical and popular metres submitted to stylization and parody as well as to improper mixes combining elements of high and popular culture. Therefore, the estetics programme of this “collage” is not conveyed in the process of imagery construction –such as it is in those that were produced by different avant-guard movements –but it is expressed in a less direct way; and that is through the compositive dynamics of the poem as it is perceived, particularly in “short poems”. Poetic boundaries widen since any subject seems to be addressed and any tone or voice can be introduced by using diverse registres that work both in contrast and juxtaposition.Downloads
